Prateep Supanrojn will conduct some of the King’s best-known compositions and young pianist Kwanchanok Pongpairoj will perform Greig’s Piano Concerto in A minor. There are shows on both December 6 and 7 at 7pm and a matinee at 4pm on the Saturday. Tickets cost Bt300 and Bt500 (Bt100 for students) at (02) 800 2525-34, extension 153-4, and www.ThailandPhil.com.

Christmas charity
The Rain Tree Cafe at Le Meridien Hotel is hosting a charity fund-raiser today – a Gingerbread House Party with finger foods, festive sweets, soft drinks and Christmas carols sung by students of Niva International School. Santa will be there and youngsters from the Thanksgiving Home will put on a magic show. The Bt700-net admission covers all the food, gingerbread-house decorations (for the kids) and two glasses of wine or beer (for the adults). Children under three can join for free. Profits go to the Central Thailand Mission (Foundation for Developing & Supporting Children).
Call (02) 650 8800.

Water is laced
Elie Saab follows in the footsteps of fellow clothing designers Issay Miyake, Paul Smith, Jean Paul Gaultier and Christian Lacroix in fashioning a limited edition glass bottle for Evian mineral water. Seeking to define purity, Saab gave the bottle a feminine and elegant lace pattern that reflects her own brand’s immaculate craftsmanship. Grab one for Bt145 at most department stores.
