Them's fightin' tweets: Thaksin lawyer sorry for being hacked

Thaksin Shinawatra's Canadian lawyer Robert Amsterdam was red-faced last week after a nasty message got loose from his Twitter account. Amsterdam sent out word last Sunday that the "errant tweet, possibly caused by hacking, was deleted from my timeline

His followers – who certainly aren’t all admirers of him or his client – tracked the goof-up to a comment from @robertamsterdam after Korn Chatikavanij’s assistant, Phasanoch “Noch” Huatayanija, was publicly assaulted early this month.
Korn, who quit as a Democrat MP so he could more legally help run the anti-government protests, tauntingly tweeted, “Anyone who has a problem with my team, please come to me.” The Amsterdam account replied with, “@korndemocrat I have a problem with @NochPH as he’s a toxic little fascist and racist. Why would you employ such a nasty piece of work?”
That’s the tweet that got quickly yanked off the Amsterdam timeline. It seemed awfully hateful, even for a lawyer – even for a lawyer who can’t seem to get his client off the hook. The next three weeks saw much speculation as to what was going on, and finally last weekend Amsterdam blamed it on hackers. Folks were doubtful. “A rather strange case of hacking,” tweeted one. “The hacker has the good manners to remove the message too!”
It’s more likely that Amsterdam has other people keeping the tweets flowing for him and they got carried away. No, we don’t mean Thaksin.

Guys and their girls
Soopsip always has trouble finding something to gossip about when there’s a political crisis. Everyone is misbehaving simultaneously and it overshadows the mundane gaffes of celebrities. So it’s with relief that we thank Vuthithorn “Woody” Militajinda, who on his weekly show “Woody Talk” tomorrow will investigate luk thung singer Monsith Kamsoi’s affection for a married man – Monsith being a guy himself and all.
The first hint of a gay relationship came from Yingsak Jonglertjesda on his talk show, “Khon Dung Nung Clear”, but Yingsak just teased the singer about it. Woody sets out to pin him down and drag out more juicy details.
We’ve seen a clip of the pre-taped show that airs at 10.30pm tomorrow, and the married man in question is there too. His name is Thanakorn (surname withheld) and Monsith refers to him as his boyfriend. “But it’s a platonic relationship,” he hastily adds, and then just as hastily points out that he also has a girlfriend. And of course Thanakorn has a wife. But the ladies “understand” their relationship, he says.
Woody asks Monsith, rather cheekily, “Have you asked him what he sees in you?” The singer is 49 and Thanakorn looks to be a few years older, but we’re not sure if that’s what Woody was driving at. Monsith says he’s never asked, “but every time we see each other we hug and kiss.” And they see each other almost every other day. “I can’t live without him,” says Thanakorn, who’s still with his wife. (She can marry someone else if she wants to, he offers.)
Monsith doesn’t always seem completely sure about his sexuality. He tells Woody he “might have become a ladyboy without knowing it”. So we’re confused too, but maybe there’s more to the show that explains everything.
