Goodies from France are on the way

The Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce is organising an exhibition, the Bonjour French Fair, with a parade of items imported from France, many of them on sale at discount prices.

Several brand products from Germany will also be on view in the Ballroom of the Queen Sirikit Convention Centre from December 12 to 15.
Unveiling the plans last week, Sukanya Uerchuchai, a counsellor at the Franco-Thai chamber, and Jorg Buck, executive director of the German-Thai Chamber of Commerce, said the fair – now in its 11th year – will feature wine, Champagne and cognac.
There will be fruit, cheese, sausages, jams, chocolate, cosmetics and spa products, perfumes, wristwatches, clothing, eyeglasses, bags, shoes and home accessories as well.
A zone has been set aside for the German Design & Lifestyle Fair, which celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Elysee Treaty with France.
On hand to hear the plans announced were local celebrities who have an affinity for the European nations. Chef Rudolph Ono of Le Cordon Bleu Dusit entertained them by demonstrating the correct way to eat French oysters. Yumi Kiengsiri, marketing communications director at Pendulum Co, was there with advice on selecting the right watch. Nattakan Denwanitchakorn, brand manager of Bel Perfume Co, offered good sense about scents.
And five top French wine varieties added to the amusement – Pinot Blanc, Gros Plant, Chateau le Grand Verdus, Prosecco and Shiraz.
