Monocle knows what's posh

The magazine comes up with some terrific gift notions

LONDON-BASED Monocle magazine, which mixes global politics with good-looking gear, has a cool gift-season collection of items at its seasonal pop-up store on the first floor of Siam Center through February 20.
There’s stationery, clothes and home decor that famous brands created in collaboration with the magazine.
Among the eye-catching products is a limited edition “Guide to Better Living” series of books in brown linen covers, assembled in a matching sleeve box. You get 400 pages of original photography and illustrations printed on high-quality paper, with the informative text recommending great places to live and visit and great things to buy all around the world.
A leather cardholder from London wallet maker Ettinger bears an embossed logo and slide-box construction. Japanese stationer Mark’s has a weekly planner good for both long-term schedules and last-minute arrangements with a dictionary in five languages and subway maps of major cities.
There’s a tailor-made shoulder bag for a 13-inch laptop that’s sturdy, cushioned and studded with leather details. Its deep front pocket can contain all the necessities for whipping round the city.
An elegant Watanabe Globe for your office desk has all the major cities marked in bold on the black and silver background. The sphere sits on a stand by Nendo Watanabe, the reputed Japanese designer.
