A very British afternoon at Harrods

A very British afternoon at Harrods

Boonchai Kongpukpaisarn, CEO of LME Co, in partnership with Thai-MC Co (a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corp), recently hosted a grand opening party for Harrods Tea Room at its first branch in Thailand, on the ground floor of Siam Paragon.

With the theme “classic British elegance”, the party drew the likes of British Ambassador Mark Kent, ML Ploynapat Leenutaphong, Sub Lt Porapol Adireksarn, Suree Ratanahiranya, Nandhamalee Bhirombhakdi and Panchalee Phenjati.
A Harrods London cab was parked out front to welcome the guests, who walked the red carpet before enjoying a classically British afternoon. Harrods chefs served Champagne and caviar while award-winning opera singers from Mahidol and Silpakorn Universities performed beautiful jazz music.
The highlight of the afternoon was a performance by a highlands bagpipe band, before Kent took care of the official ribbon cutting. Then came afternoon high tea in authentic British style, with deluxe canapes, pastries, scones, caviar, lobster rolls and Scottish smoked salmon.
It all fit perfectly with the exquisite selection of Harrods’ best teas and its modern, elegant tea room decorated in hues of green and cream.
