Cheering on the chukkas

Kanoksakdi Bhinsaeng, chairman of Thailand Polo Association, recently hosted the final round of the All Asia Cup 2014 to celebrate the association’s 10th anniversary at VR Sports Club in Samut Prakan.

The event was attended by celebrities and stars including Proudputh and Pasu Liptapanlop, Apinara Srikarnchana, Chulalux Piyasombatkul, Panithi Sanitwong Na Ayutthaya, Jaron Sorat and Pattarin Jirasook. The opening ceremony kicked off with a taiko drum performance to rev up the players. 

Next was a parade from Surasakmontree School followed by the athlete’s parade. Kanoksak then threw the polo ball to mark the beginning of the final round in this year’s, which pitted the Thai team competed against Mongolia. The Thai team beat the Mongolian team by a score of nine to two and a half. 

Next was the final round of All Asia Cup 2014 between India and Indonesia. The Indonesian team beat the Indian team by a six to four and a half. During intermission, the audience was invited on the field to stomp the divots to help smooth the turf. The competition wrapped up with a special horse performance, which sparked excitement among the audience.
