Lovebird's Anisha Attaskulchai comes up with a collection inspired by the sea

DESIGNERS DRAW inspiration from a wide variety of subjects, nature among them, and Anisha Attaskulchai, founder of the Thai fashion label Lovebird is no exception. “Princess of the Sea”, her new collection for spring and summer 2014 and showcased in a recent preview, draws heavily on the deep blue ocean and the dazzling seashore.
The space at the S31 Hotel on Sukhumvit was transformed into a photography studio hosting a summer-inspired fashion shoot. The set was designed as the seashore and models posed happily in Lovebird’s chic dresses.
Looking gorgeous in one of her own designs, Anisha told us that she’s always been fascinated by the ocean and couldn’t resist coming up with designs and patterns that portray the glimmering ocean waves.
“This collection’s silhouette plays with the delicate structure and shape of seashells and the mermaid’s tail. I use only the best fabrics such as sheer silk, cotton polyester and printed leather.
With each distinct look, I |incorporate up to three different fabrics to create a subtle, yet unique balance.”
The colour palette draws on radiant summer sky as it’s reflected in the ocean from dawn until dusk with hues that include blue, coral, cream, grey and black.
Apart from giving extra attention to the designs, the collection also features a beautiful range of accessories. The enticing jewellery is inspired from the shapes and textures of seashells found in the vast ocean. Limited edition earrings and bracelets complete the look.
Lovebird also offers a range of shoes for summer, mainly in rainbow leather delicately embellished with seashells, pearls and feathers.
Based on the idea that women are at their most beautiful when in love, all of Lovebird’s collections epitomise a delicate, yet sexy woman full of passionate love.
Several celebrities and fans of the fashion brand attended the event, among them Piyawadee Maleenont, Sonya Singha, Vanvilai Techasomboon, Pitchana Ekachai, Khanidtha Daroonnate and superstars Virithipa Yamnam, Morakot Kittisara and Panita Tumwattana.
The new collection is available next month at Central Chidlom.
