Hands up if you feel |happy for Cressida

There are probably more than a few lovely Thai girls thinking they might still have a shot at Britain's Prince Harry now that he's royally dumped his girlfriend of two years, Cressida Bonas.

There are probably more than a few lovely Thai girls thinking they might still have a shot at Britain’s Prince Harry now that he’s royally dumped his girlfriend of two years, Cressida Bonas. (Or did she dump him? And does it matter?) The lovely Thai girls, and others just like them around the world, probably realise this would be their one and only shot at Harry. The man is well overdue for a wedding.
News of the split drew quick speculation that the pressure of the public limelight was too much for their high-profile relationship, along with the usual nauseating optimism that they can still be best friends for each other blah blah blah.
It’s said that Bonas wants to focus on her career, having recently completed a year’s training in contemporary dance at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire. She’s working for a marketing firm in London until someone hires her to dance for them, but has now been granted “compassionate leave” from the job. She was photographed last week en route to the office looking worn out.
Harry, on the other hand, seems fine. He’s said to be bombarding Cressida with tweets but still found time to attend a pre-wedding party for his close friend Guy Pelly in Miami, Florida. Bonas was supposed to have been there with him.
On Sunday he reportedly got peeved when he found out that some of Bonas’ friends are booked to appear on the new British TV gossip show “Ladies of London” and begged Cressida to dissuade them, lest they spill too many hurtful beans about him. The “reality show”, which borrows its back-stabbing format from America’s “The Real Housewives of Orange County”, is due to premiere next month but has not named anyone who might be appearing. One of the regulars, however, is believed to be 37-year-old Caroline Stanbury, who is not only a pal of Cressida but also an ex-girlfriend of Harry’s uncle, Prince Andrew. (Surely there can’t be anything bad left to say about Prince Andrew!)
Prince Harry’s cousin, Andrew’s daughter Princess Eugenie, introduced him to Bonas. Cressida’s mum is the socialite Lady Mary-Gaye Georgina Lorna Curzon, and she was one of those tarty “It Girls” back in the Swinging ’60s. And that’s what London still does – it swings, like a pendulum do.

Focus gets Bombed
“I don’t want love to obstruct my life,” Tanin “Bomb” Manoonsilp famously said two months ago when asked about his relationship with fellow actor Focus Jeerakul. It’s a heck of a quote, so no wonder the writers of the just-debuted cable series “Club Friday the Series Four: Rue Rak Tae Ja Pae Kwamtang” (“True Love Overcomes Differences”) incorporated it into the script, albeit paraphrased.
The show on Channel One stars Focus as Pook and Jirayu “Kao” La-ongmanee as You, university students who are in love despite their fundamentally different personalities.
There’s a scene in which Pook’s friend tells her, “Love isn’t a hindrance, but a bad boyfriend is. Remember that!”
Somewhere in all this Bomb must be thinking, “This sort of sounds familiar”. And yet the series’ producer, Atime Media, insists that the script draws entirely on true-life experiences cited by the television audience.
We tend to share Bomb’s sensation of deja vu, though, and suspect a deliberate con – drawing comparisons to Bomb and Focus – to generate some publicity. If so, it didn’t work, judging by the response to the episodes posted on YouTube. In four days they’ve had more than 100,000 views!
