Suwat said the 2013 Thailand Open runner-up has already confirmed his participation in the six-member event that will replace the annual women’s exhibition match in the resort city and the ATP Thailand Open in the capital.
The president said six players from the top 20 will be invited to take part in the knock out format event with the top two seeds receiving a first round bye.
“More interesting names will be revealed later. I’m pretty sure the tournament will suit the tastes of Thai fans who prefer watching famous players,” said Suwat.
The LTAT president also added that a total of Bt60 million will be spent to oragnise the event. Winner will receive US$200,000, runner-up US$100,000 and semi-finalists US$50,000.
