THE BANGKOK stop on Taylor Swift’s “Red Tour” of Asia was cancelled amid coup jitters, but American shoemaker Ked, one of the tour sponsors, is going ahead with the Thai launch of a new line of sneakers on which the singer collaborated.
The Champion runners reflect Swift’s penchant for making social statements with a fun twist. They bear big polka dots and nautical stripes, delicate bows and sleek chevrons with playful scribble edges. Peonies bloom for summer and songbirds sing of freedom.
The colours range from dandelion, indigo and “high-risk red” to aqua, coral and sky blue. Everything is finished off with trimming and lace in coordinated colours and either a silver heart engraved with Swift’s favourite number, 13, or an antique brass guitar pick with her logo in the middle.
Each pair of shoes costs Bt2,290.
