Artists and musicians make the Godung Mini Fest a success

Thai Asia Pacific Brewery pulled out all the stops and brought a truly unique contemporary art and music experience to young Thais recently with its Godung Mini Fest.
The event combined live tagging by renowned local graffiti artist Alex Face with performances by three hot bands from Indonesia, Australia and the UK.
Held at Bangkok’s Moonstar Studio, the Godung event began with the demonstration of graffiti art by Alex Face, aka Patcharapon Tangruen, a famous local artist. Starting with a plain black canvas and using only spray paint, and a pile of Tiger bottle caps, he created an amazing work inspired by the mystery and power of the night sky.
The concert itself kicked off to the Indo-rock sounds of Agrikulture, a high-energy fast paced band from Indonesia, which energised the Thai fans their first riff.  In addition to its well known hits like “The Safari”, Agrikulture surprised and delighted the audience with a super modern cover of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick in the Wall – Part 2.”
The second band to take the stage was Architecture in Helsinki, a group that has been making music since 2003 but which has never lost touch with its heart and soul. Attired in bright colours that matched their upbeat sound and lively on-stage antics, they blew the crowd away when all the band members came out in traditional Thai boxing shorts. Their local fans also showed their devotion to the group by singing along to “Dream A Little Crazy” and “In The Future”.
The final performance of the evening was from the British band the Mystery Jets, which was founded in 2004 and has continued to evolve its own sound through regular performances at international music festivals, a stint of writing and recording new material in the US, and the release of five studio albums. The band’s hard work and professionalism has been rewarded with multiple appearances on the UK charts. Thai fans of the Mystery Jets were out in force and made their presence heard throughout the band’s set and especially when it played their hit single “Serotonin”.
