Furniture and decor with colour and wit can liven up the mood

If your home’s looking a little glum during the rainy season, the colossal Ikea store at Mega Bangna has a fresh shipment of furnishings and accessories whose materials and clever twists ought to brighten things up.
Ikea is promising “A colourful respite to the grey weather outside” with its Arkelstrop tables, desks and sideboards that blend traditional Swedish designs with the latest styles.
The bright-blue Nordi chest even has a cable port in the top drawer where you can plug in your smartphone or tablet computer. The Randerup rug with its crayon-box range of colours offers a warm welcome to guests and family.
Decorate the ceiling area with a Nymo lampshade that’s inspired by the pop and punk music of the ’70s and ’80s. It comes in tones of copper, black, turquoise and wine-red and gives the room a little retro vibe.
There are also textiles and quilts bearing prints of scenes from games and sports like football.
