Songdej Praditsmanont might be right that most, but not all, forms of depression and bipolar disorder are temporary and medically manageable – if they arise without too much outside interference.
In my case, I suddenly became bipolar in my late middle-age years after the US military tested experimental drugs on me without my consent in 1994-1995 while I was overseas.
A serious auto accident and head injury did not help either.
Mixing mood stabilisers with the military’s experimental drugs is something I am very glad I did not try.
