Your 'Editorial' in today's paper is naive in the extreme.
The Israel Defence Forces attacked both tunnels dug by Hamas for no other purpose than to enter Israeli territory to kill and kidnap Israeli civilians at sites from which rockets were launched into Israel. The fact these were placed in and alongside schools, hospitals and mosques is the sole responsibility of Hamas. Your suggestion that Israel lifts restrictions on Gaza would be the shortest suicide note in history. Read the Hamas constitution and you will find their sole objective is the destruction of the state of Israel, not to mention all Jews worldwide. The ending of the Israeli and Egyptian blockade would result in the importation of further and larger heavy weapons and the materials for building further terror tunnels into Israel. Humanitarian aid, food and medicines were transported into Gaza by the Israeli government even during the recent conflict but Hamas are not interested in improving the lives of Gazans; they are solely concerned with the destruction of Israel.
