KPN Award and Channel 3 Original are working hard to ensure that the 24th edition of the singing contest will be better and bigger than ever before.
“We are keeping the battle series theme,” said Korn Narongdej, chief executive of KPN Award, during the recent press conference at VIE Hotel Bangkok. “Contestants will be divided into two teams with the red team representing a good voice and the blue representing good looks. The winning team will receive the royal trophy and take home a higher cash reward of Bt1 million as well as other prizes.
“The lighting and sound systems as well as the production design will be on par with international standards. The heats will follow the variety show format so that audience can enjoy the costumes as well as the performances, in addition to our judges’ comments.”
The judges of the red team are Suthipong “Chompoo Fruity” Wattanajang and Amita Tata Young, while those for the blue team are Vinai “DJ Je Mam” Suksawang and actor Chatayodom “Chai” Hiranyatithi , a newcomer to the show.
“I invited Chai to be the new judge for the blue team, because he is a good-looking actor and a talented singer. These days, he’s also directing TV dramas,” says Korn.
“I’m delighted to be a part of this 24th singing contest,” Chai adds. “As a judge for the blue team, I will be looking not just as appearance but also expression.”
Many former KPN artists turned out for the press conference including Thassapak “Bie” Hsu, Kanokchat “Typhoon” Munyad-on, Chayapol “Good” Panhakarn, Ponpun “Namwaan” Monchatin, Rakchon “Fuang” Puttarangsi, Akarin “Art” Chaikaewsakulchai, Anurak “Bom” Boonpurmpoon, Chetchawin “Kwan” Chuprathum, Piyanut “Dong” Dangpoonphol, and Paopetch “Petch” Charoensook.
