The Thai maintained his lead from start to finish in the second race at the Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium.
After winning the first race on Saturday, the teenager, who also dominated in the previous races at Silverstone, took full charge from the start. At the start, he was swarmed by three drivers who almost overtook him.
But after the first lap, the Thai-Norwegian pulled away from the field, setting several fast laps. He crossed the finish line in 29:45.365 sec after 13 laps, 13.238 seconds ahead of team-mate Artur Janosz of Poland. Japan’s Yu Kanamaru of E de Villota Motorsport was third.
“I knew if I could get to sector two first, I could probably make up the gap. It worked perfectly to plan,” said the 19-year-old, who has won eight out of 12 races this season.
“In every race I pushed my hardest to be in this position. I’m just happy that all the work we – especially the mechanics who have put so much efforts into this – is paying off. I’m happy to deliver a result like this for them.”
Stuvik leads the championship with 241 points, followed by Spain’s Alex Palou, 196 and Janosz, 179.
Albers resigns at Caterham
Former Dutch racing driver Christijan Albers has resigned as Caterham team principal with immediate effect following Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix, the team said. In a statement, the 35-year-old said he had made his decision for “private reasons”.
Albers only took the post of team principal in July following a takeover of the team by a group of investors.
He will be replaced by Italian Manfredi Ravetto, who was previously Albers’ deputy and general manager. “Due to private reasons and in order to be able to spend more time with my family, I will resign from my position as CEO,” said Albers.
