The Prayuth Chan-ocha government seems to be in the unenviable position of having to reform the Thai education system wholly and urgently – whether it likes it or not.
According to the World Economic Forum (WEF)’s latest report, Thailand is ranked behind even Laos – its small neighbour to the Northeast – in terms of quality of both primary and higher education.
We will know soon enough, though, whether the government will react to this report in a serious manner or not since Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha is scheduled to make his policy address to Parliament today.
If the government makes passive comments about education reform, all hope will likely be lost for our country’s future generations yet again.
