Toilet research might warrant lofty position

Re: "Suspicious procurement? The US does it best", Letters, September 10.

It delights me greatly to know that Somsak Pola has found a new favourite punching bag in the form of the United States. Previously it was always Abhisit Vejjajiva, Suthep Thaugsuban, the Democrat Party or whomever else was not affiliated with the then-ruling Pheu Thai Party.
I am amazed by his unique ability in digging out the prices of hammers, toilet seats and coffee machines sold by the US to Thailand in our “military procurement”. Somsak seemed serious enough to quote the exact prices, so he must have done his homework well.
He should be appointed Auditor-General so that our national interests, insofar as procurement is concerned, would be effectively guarded.
