Enforcement of laws needed more than new laws

Re: "Bill proposes death for causing airport closure", (News, September 19).

The airport closure in Bangkok in 2008 cost us millions of baht in losses because of the disruption. Should I be elated with your latest report of a proposed death penalty for future offenders being considered by the National Legislative Assembly? Not at all!
To date, under the existing criminal laws which are adequate, the accused are still free on bail and the legal cases appear to be unending after a period of six years. Thailand is a country with all sorts of legal rules and regulations but the effectiveness of the enforcement is laughably low.
As they always say: “Justice delayed is justice denied” or “Too many rules and regulations are strangling life”.
