How many Thais are trained (whether in universities or not) to set-up a solar power system?
It’s not difficult and can be learned in two weeks. However, the answer is zero, or near zero.
I get dozens of requests per month from people in Thailand (mostly farang) who are eager to set up solar, but who can’t find any Thai person with any expertise. The potential clients are willing to spend big money.
Meanwhile the universities keep churning out tens of thousands of business graduates who are good for what? Perhaps they’re good at requesting loans or selling cosmetics or pirated software. But don’t ask them to complete a coherent sentence in English – they’ll just grin, snicker and cover their mouths with their hands.
