The Prayut Chan-o-cha government should act rapidly and effectively before anyone else attempts self-immolation like Sangvean Raksaphet did this week in front of Government House.
In some provinces government officials are obviously acting as loan sharks themselves. Some are abetting these usurers take advantage of abject people.
Also, it is very possible that drugs money is involved in this loan-shark business in some areas of the country, for this is one of the easiest ways to launder dirty money.
The government can solve this problem by punishing state officials who are found to be involved in loan-sharking, and severely.
