Eighty-two years without a genuine people's charter

Constitution Drafting Committee members should realise that the Thai people have been desperately waiting, for the past 82 years, for a Constitution that contains laws and directives guided by the principle that every Thai is equal in terms of social stat

Hence, all the charter drafters must bear in mind that despite the serious political disagreement we have, the welfare and future of the common people should take priority over the conflict itself.
No one – not even the hotheads on either side of the country’s political divide – will raise an objection if you design the basic law in a way that will allow the have-nots the same opportunity of a good life and future as the haves.
And there is no better way to do so than for all of you to come down from your ivory towers and pay close attention to the voices of the common people at ground level!
For far too long, the powers that be in this country have owed us, the Thai people, a better life and future.
