Enthusiastic applause and bucketfuls of praise greeted the second edition of the “BFS X Paragon Capsule Project”, which showcases the talents of some of the most influential Thai designers through a collaborative collection while subtly presenting each brand’s unique personality.
Paragon Department Store collaborated with Bangkok Fashion Society (BFS) for the recent launch which this year featured an exclusive collection by Asava, Curated by Ek Thongprasert, Disaya, Greyhound, Issue, Kloset, Milin, Senada, Tu’i and Vickteerut.
The central theme maintained its classic focus on black and white and jazzed it up with fuchsia pink. The limited edition collection enables fashionistas to mix and match the garments and accessories of all brands together, offering the opportunity to create 30 gorgeous looks.
Founder and designer of Vickteerut, Teerut Wongwatanasin, is the representative of this exclusive project.
“Usually Vickteerut presents two main collections per year and the special collaboration for BFS X Paragon Capsule Project II is an exclusive occasion especially created for fans of Paragon and our brand. The most important factor you need to keep in mind about working with several other designers is the need to portray a sense of uniqueness while also considering how your designs can match with those of the other brands. It has definitely been an enjoyable challenge. I can guarantee that every item of clothing in this collection will make you stand out beautifully from the crowd,”
Celebrity fashion icon Mulee Unchisa Vacharaphol was one of the guests at the recent launch event. “Most of my outfits are black or white, as they are classic hues that can be worn for just about every occasion. On days that I need something more colourful, I usually opt for completing my look with a vivid pink lipstick. Mixing and matching black and white can never go wrong as these colours allow you to play around with textures, prints and quality tailoring for a more unique appeal,” she says,
Siraprapa Chirabandhu agrees. “I love simple and basic clothing, which I accessorise with hats, purses or shoes to add bursts of vibrant colour. The colours I wear depend on the places I’m going to or the occasions. I’ve really enjoyed the fashion show today. Usually, we see stylists mix and match colours like black and white together, but the presentation I saw today brought in fuchsia as an added element. I think it made the looks more modern, playful and lively and it’s given me lots of ideas for my own outfits.”
