A vintage English Christmas

Harrods welcomes the yule season with a tantalizing array of traditional treats

HARRODS TEA Room celebrates its first anniversary in Thailand and welcomes the festive season with a wide selection of newly created dishes to boost the sense of joy.
The tearoom also uplifts its mood and tone while maintaining its elegant British theme and original classic atmosphere with decorations in white pearl, sparkling gold and silver. You also see the Harrods carriage, Christmas trees and the famous “Mr Green Man” bear in his green suit.
To please Thai epicureans, authentic British dishes have been added to the menu, such as traditional Welsh Rarebit and British Chicken Coronation Salad (both Bt290). There is Black Pepper Beef Pastrami & Cheese Panini (Bt320) and many delicious British-style desserts like Original Signature Drop Scones (Bt230) and Drop Scones Fruit & Berry (Bt260), as well as new brunch and afternoon high-tea sets.
The classic British tea sets are available from 10am to 5pm and come complete with Harrods scones and assorted fruit jams.
Designed for two, the Mayfair set (Bt990) is as filling as a full meal. You get roast beef sandwiches (or ham and piccalilli if beef isn’t your thing), smoked salmon and cream cheese, tuna mayonnaise, egg and water cress sandwich, and lobster roll, together with four traditional Harrods scones – two buttered, one sweet raisin, and one Earl Grey.
The scones are served with clotted cream, rose and lychee jam, strawberry vinegar jam, and lemon curd.
And there are also the Harrods tea fancies, which include chocolate mini-domes, lemon mini-tarts, English berry trifle, Earl Grey eclairs and a macaroon blanc with Champagne stuffing. They come with two choices of tea from a selection that features Darjeeling, Earl Grey, Afternoon Special, 1849 Blend, Vanilla Excellence, Moroccan Blend and Whole Rose Buds.
The Chelsea set (Bt390) is ideal if you’re on your own and features two scones (plain and rose Earl Grey) with clotted cream and assorted jams, two macaroons with orange and English rose stuffing, and a lemon curd cupcake.
The Bakery Boutique is decorated with Harrods Gingerbread building for the festive season. It offeres many handcrafted Christmas treats and festive bakery menus.
Until January 5, you can pile up the Very Berry Christmas Scones (Bt89), Snow White Christmas Yule Logs (Bt350), Festive Macaroon Cranberry Pistachio and White Choc Raspberry (Bt660 for 12 pieces), Ornaments Cookies Jasper and Greenman (Bt399), Marshmallow Chocolate Brownie (Bt105) and British Christmas Roll Golden Chocolate (Bt165).
