Thailand, Amazon and Asean

TUESDAY, DECEMBER 09, 2014

Amazon is arguably the world's biggest Internet shopping website and offers international shipment.

But an overwhelming percentage of the sellers will not ship to Thailand, citing uncertain customs duties/fees, undependable delivery via the Thai postal system, no damage control or lost packages.
So, once again, Thai citizens are denied entry to the modern world in terms of the newest and best products and services, which millions of others have at their fingertips. Meanwhile Thai officials ponder high-speed trains, bigger highways, nuclear energy, tunnels and so on, but cannot effect the very simple things that people want or need.
Thai people simply do not know what is “out there”. Ready for the Asean community? Nope!
