A mistake to not have all lawmakers elected

It is not fact yet, but indications coming from the reform committee are that they are going to require cabinet members to be elected but are going to continue allowing "appointees" in the Senate.
I have been babbling on for months about requiring all lawmakers to be elected, including the PM, but it seems that I have been talking to myself.
Indications are that the only people that I didn’t believe needed to be elected are going to have to be.
It shouldn’t change my life one bit, but it is sad that if this is the way it plays out, things will go full circle back to where they were before Thaksin came on the scene. Like a friend of mine once said: the expression of “Thai progress” remains an oxymoron.
