Bakeries and cafes all over town are continuing to offer festive treats through January
CHRISTMAS DAY might be done and dusted for another year but the city’s bakeries are still producing sweet treats in colourful festive designs guaranteed to delight anyone with a sugar craving.
Japanese-style cafe Mori Dessert Bar has teamed up with MT Masking Tape to create a limited edition of Maru chocolates covered with funky stickers that bring a hint of graphic design to the table.
They come in three flavours: Chocolate Praline, Milk Chocolate Caramel and Dark Chocolate Earl Grey. The set is priced at Bt450 and available until January 15.
American patisserie Cinnabon, meanwhile, goes wild for M&Ms with a collection that includes the Cinnabon M&M’s Center of the Roll topped with chocolate, white cream sauce and the crunchy sweets (Bt60) and M&M Chillatas topped with cream and chocolate for Bt115. There’s also a special promotion offering one goodie free with every five purchased. The offer runs through January.
Twining collaborates with Cath Kidston on a limited edition of macaroons that feature the designer’s motifs of a London bus, an antique rose, a soldier in a red uniform and the Cath Kidston’s logo.
The shells and fillings come in a variety of Twining’s signature tea flavours including Earl Grey, four red fruits, rose garden, peach and pistachio, wild berries and white chocolate, camomile, peppermint, passion fruit with mango and orange, strawberry mango and Prince of Wales with sea salt and exclusive lemon. The macaroons cost Bt55 apiece and can be enjoyed through February 28.
Krispy Kreme sticks to a Yuletide theme for its assortment of Snowman, Snowflake, Holiday Tree and Holiday Sprinkle doughnuts that cost Bt35 each or Bt296 for a box. Buy a dozen doughnuts and you receive a sticker that you can redeem for a reward. They’re on sale until January 15.
Au Bon Pain offers three sets of Christmas and New Year-inspired pastries that have zero trans fat and are on sale until Wednesday. A basket of six cookies shaped as snowmen, gingerbread men and Christmas tree come in a glittering silver box and cost Bt415.
The Holiday cookies and Christmas fruit cake set (Bt465) features two cookies and three pieces of Christmas fruit cake made with real fruits and nuts while the Christmas fruit cake and panettone set goes for Bt550.
