US meddling in other countries' affairs is rank hypocrisy

I find the US government's "concern" over Thailand's leisurely "return to democracy" at the very least uncalled for and unhelpful and at worst the height of hypocrisy and cynicism.

The US government would do well to put their own house in order by proscribing the use of torture and prosecuting those who practise it or justify its use before meddling in the affairs of other sovereign countries around the world.
Furthermore, I would suggest there is a dire need in the US to educate the American public that torture under any guise is morally wrong.
