The junta is saviour, not gangster

Re: "Patting junta on the back is like talking up Capone", Letters, January 26.

I am always prepared to listen to criticism and points of view other than my own, but I am at a total loss to understand where Somsak Pola is coming from.
He says that praising the junta is “like praising Al Capone ... drinkers didn’t care how many Capone had killed as long as booze kept flowing”.
If my memory serves me correctly, people were being indiscriminately murdered on a daily basis, including by-standing women and children until General Prayut Chan-o-cha came along and put a stop to it.
How many people has he murdered, Khun Somsak?
