The dinner is an annual event open to former students of all classes and ages. Using it to promote politicians is absolutely inappropriate.
If the alumni association wishes to congratulate politicians for their achievements and/or contributions to the school, it should organise a special event to do so, rather than intruding on this inclusive annual get-together.
And if the association wants to laud Ms Yingluck for her achievements as prime minister, it should also honour her big brother Thaksin for making Yingluck’s ascension to that position possible.
I, for one, will not be joining this year’s school event.
