Zo in Love

Korean superstar actor Zo in Sung makes nice with Thai fans at a meet and greet event

IF THEY WEREN’T |already head-over-heels infatuated with him, Thai teenyboppers certainly went home last weekend from Zo In Sung’s debut fan meeting at Bangkok’s JJ Mall with stars in their eyes and butterflies in their tummies.
“I’m sorry to have come here so late,” the South Korean actor and star of romantic drama |“The Classic” told fans who responded with ear-splitting screams, before settling in for a Q&A session aimed at helping his followers learn more about him.
That was followed by a series of screen shots showing romantic moments between Zo and his leading lady in the TV series “It’s Okay, That’s Love”, Gong Hyo-jin. Again, fans screamed, with many no doubt wishing they could swap places with actress.
And the wish did indeed come true for six of them who were invited up on stage to act out their fantasies and enjoyed a cuddle from the star when he wrapped each in a warm blanket.
The scenes were recorded for posterity on a Polaroid, which Zo then signed for the lucky girls.
Questioned as to how she felt, one of the six became tearful as she explained she’d been waiting for the opportunity to get up close and cosy with her hero for more than 10 years.
And the actor was also in for a surprise as Thailand Fanclub screened a video clip that brought together many of his scenes with fans’ messages and the audience holding up sheets of paper declaring “It’s Okay That I Love You”.
“Thank you very much. I will not forget your love today,” said the visibly moved actor before taking a picture with the audience.
“I would like to sing a song for all of you who have waited for me for long.”
And as good as his word, Zo crooned Hot Potato’s “Thinking”.
