To halt haze, reach out to the fire-starters

The North of Thailand has been suffering pollution haze for a few months now, but we have seen no serious efforts to solve this annual problem. Many organisations have been trying to tackle this crisis, but their actions alone are not enough.

Cooperation from locals is also needed. Locals are still using fire to burn off field stubble and brush, but in many cases this practice inevitably goes out of control and leads to wildfires. Thus, rather than being the responsibility of specific organisations, finding the solution to this crisis lies with everyone. If more locals realised the dire effect it was having on society, they would soon stop the burning.
