I am not generally pro-military although I am retired from the military, but I support the current military-led Thai government because, again, I see no viable alternative in Thailand.
Sometimes I think news media are the boldest of heroes, but I am often disgusted at the subjectivity that I perceive in much of the news media everywhere. In the end, it is a matter of economics: President Obama is probably best (or least-worst) for the US economy; the current Thai government likely prevented a complete economic disaster in Thailand; and objective news media are absolutely essential for the survival of any modern economy. His Majesty the King once clearly pointed out that the monarchy is not, and should not be, above criticism. That would mean no one in Thailand should consider themselves as being above criticism.
