UN and West should step in to help Rohingya

Rather than blaming Asean member-countries for not helping Rohingya migrants still adrift on the high seas, the United Nations, the US and the EU should step in to help, and do it quickly.

There is no time for politics now. Of all the migrants around the world seeking a better place to live, the Rohingya are a special case, in that they are being driven out of Bangladesh and Myanmar. They are afloat because they are denied citizenship and thus have no land to stand on.
Countries like Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia cannot rush to provide camps for these refugees without a pledge from developed nations that they will take these people in.

Western countries should also take it as their duty to help the Rohingya.
