In poor company on air safety

Re: "Govt to work on aviation |standards with airline re-audit", National, June 20.

The “red flag” given Thailand on aviation safety standards by the International Civil Aviation Organisation has not been taken seriously by the news media or those in charge. Your report was generous enough to reveal that, besides Thailand, 12 other countries earned the same red warning. However, the names of those countries – not listed in your article – should have all Thais hanging their heads in shame.

They are Angola, Botswana, Djibouti, Eritrea, Georgia, Haiti, Kazakhstan, Lebanon, Malawi, Nepal, Sierra Leone and Uruguay.
