It is preposterous, as your editorial suggested: An Army lieutenant-general has decided that reporters ask Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha too many testing questions and so should be put through a “workshop” for journalists.
Thailand will become the world’s laughingstock if the government led by General Prayut decides to follow such advice.
Thailand is not an island unto itself, and it can never be. The military coup last year was meant to right the wrongs of recent Thai history – not create more of them.
Many citizens may have welcomed the coup last year, but that doesn’t mean the coup-makers can do what they please – much less add more to the existing and already chronic problems.
Be sensible, not sensitive.
