It is hardly surprising that the National Reform Committee rejected the charter draft. The draft would surely have come a cropper in a public referendum. Fiddling with the votes to force a coalition is a bad idea. On past performances, coalition turns to
The Pheu Thai Party was against the charter draft because it did not address reconciliation. In an orderly society, reconciliation is not a factor. If a group has overstepped the mark and offended the rest of society, the way forward is acknowledgement and apology.
The red shirts claimed the charter draft was “undemocratic”, and I would agree, but if the previous administration was an example of democracy in action, who needs it?
