When the Volkswagen air-pollution scandal broke, the boss resigned right away. He didn’t program the engines or do the testing, but he took responsibility. If Yingluck had done the right thing and resigned before the coup, there would be no Prayut to appeal to.
She claims “unfairness”. Was it fair that a man seduced the poor and enriched himself at their expense? Was it fair for Yingluck to attempt to force through an amnesty bill to recover her brother Thaksin’s money, at the expense of amnesty for his rank-and-file red shirts? Is it fair that, after 15 wasted years of corruption and mismanagement, the perpetrators are expecting scot-free reconciliation?
Is it fair that the money required to get sort out the country should come from the taxpayers?
Yingluck must live in Cloud Cuckoo Land.
