Mixing it up at Moonstar

AFTER TAKING a break from the stage for more than 10 years, remix artist and producer Zomkiat Ariyachaipanich is back next Friday with a concert titled “Z-Myx Live Vol 1” at Moonstar Studio on Lat Phrao Soi 80.

“For the past 11 years I’ve been working with other artists as well as on my own albums and recently collaborated with POP on their ‘P.O.P. Rock’ album. Now that I’m getting older, I’d like to communicate more with music lovers. And, perhaps more importantly, the trend these days is for electronic dance music and so I have plenty to offer,” says Zomkiat, who has been behind many artists such as Rudklao Amratisha, Joey Boy, Thanachai “Pod” Ujjin, Nop Pornchamni and Triumphs Kingdom.

“This year, we’ve seen the dynamics of music on the international market reverting to the 1980s. I’m personally think that the last period music sounded good was the 1990s and so I’m bringing those sounds back and enhancing them with up-to-date technology and my own presentation,” he says.

Zomkiat’s guests for the show include Triumphs Kingdom featuring Suratanawee “Bo” Suviporn and Pornpan “Joyce” Ratanamethanon and Piya Sastrawaha aka Po Yokee Playboy.

The producer recently released his latest single, “Chan Rak Ther (Muean Derm Thuk Yang)” (Still Loving You) featuring Apapat “Faii the Voice 3” Bhumipak, and she too will be joining him on stage.

“After the release of the first single, I used Facebook to communicate with my fans and acknowledged several of their posts. I was delighted to hear that one guy had met his girlfriend while listening to my song.”
