PM has plenty of company when it comes to gaffes

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2015

The prime minister certainly gaffed in suggesting he might conceivably have to close down Thailand. But international leaders regularly make faux pas.

David Cameron once let slip that Yorkshire people hate each other, whilst John Major was caught on tape calling his Cabinet colleagues “bastards”. The Duke of Edinburgh’s racial slur asked a group of Australian Aborigines if they still threw spears, whilst prime minister Netanyahu recently absolved Hitler from designing the Holocaust.  As president Obama might say, “Stuff happens”.
