Let the people screen the candidates

Our new constitution should require primary polls for candidates to present their platforms to the voters, much like the US primaries going on now.

It would help we the people choose our leaders rather than have party financiers and bosses screen compliant
proxies first, as in mainland China.
The first round of debates should include all who qualify as candidates with a low bar, say 5,000 signatures in support.
The third and fourth rounds should include only the top two or three candidates of each party, and must be face to face, one on one.
All rounds would be accessible via YouTube, while the third and fourth rounds would be broadcast live nationwide, at public expense, so we have informed voters for a change.
