Though with the new LG Pocket Photo printer, you're more likely to be feted

WANT TO BE the centre of attraction at a party? Then slip the new LG Pocket Photo PD251 in your pocket and you can guarantee your friends will never be far from your side.
Compact and lightweight, the PD251 is LG’s latest portable photo printer and it churns out 50x76mm photos in 313x600 dpi fast and conveniently.
The PD251, which has a footprint of only 76x118x20.5mm and weighs a mere 183 grammes, supports Android operating system, iOS and Windows Phone smartphones making it a snap for selfies.
You need to install LG Pocket Photo App on your smartphone first and connect to the printer using Bluetooth connection. The app then lets you print photos on your smartphone with ease.
Better still, the Pocket Photo uses special paper from Zero Ink that can print photos without using any ink or ribbon.
Zink Paper from Zero Ink is an advanced composite material composed of multiple layers of colour-forming chemistry, including proprietary cyan, yellow and magenta dye crystals.
The multiple layers are coated as a thin “stack” onto a base layer and finished with a protective polymer overcoat to keep out moisture and UV light. The imaging of colour takes place between these layers, which when combined, are the thickness of a single human hair.
Zink paper is made of three layers of specially designed dye crystals protected by a clear overcoat. Inside the LG Pocket Photo is a mechanism containing micro heaters that activate the dye crystals, developing the white Zink paper into a Polaroid-like paper.
This new model makes the photos as clear and defined as what you get from a professional print shop, but in smaller size.
You can open up the cover of the printer and place Zink paper into its holder.
When a photo is printed, it will come out from the slot on its top part.
The PD251 comes with a microUSB port for recharging its built-in battery.
The app does not only print photos but it also allows you to |edit and jazz up your snaps.
You can also select a filter to sharpen or increase saturation of your photos or turn them into back and white. Or create a collage and frame.
The app also lets you create a QR code that contains your mobile phone number and Facebook link or YouTube link and embeds it in your photo.
The app takes 16 seconds or less if you edit the photo before sending it to the printer. Another 65 seconds more and you have the print in your hand.
LG Pocke Photo PD251 is available in white and pink for Bt3,490. LG Zink paper retails for Bt399 per box of 30 sheets.
