Everything Jenny Moxham wrote about animals’ intelligence and love of life is true. However, please consider that the bugs a frog eats have feelings, the deer that wolves eat have feelings, the buffalo that lions eat have feelings, and so on. Now let’s project this onto humans. Why do you suppose we took to eating meat? Simply because there weren’t enough other things around to eat – so, like the frog, the wolf and the lion, we ate was available.
If we outlawed the consumption of all meat, poultry and fish tomorrow, there simply would not be enough vegetables, fruit and nuts to feed an ever-growing human population. We need the food supply, and it is not a sin to enjoy eating it. If it were a sin, then frogs, wolves and lions would be going to hell with us.
