Atrocities in name of Islam a revival of 'holy wars'

When George W Bush made his notorious remark, "Islam is a religion of peace", he displayed not only his naivete but also his ignorance of world history.
Making the effort to learn the history of Islam and its associated scriptures reveals the ideology to have been incited by a warlord who claimed it to have been sanctioned by his god.
Within 25 years of his demise, a mass genocide took place. His followers annihilated millions of Christians across north Africa, and much of the land around the Mediterranean Sea was under the Islamic sword of conquest.
There is a clear relationship between this and the bloody atrocities currently being perpetrated in the name of Islam. The latest is the murderous weekend horror in Paris.
Islam declared war on all non-Muslims – infidels – 1,400 years ago. What we are currently experiencing worldwide is a revival of that declaration of war.
It is time the free world picked up the gauntlet. What sort of civilisation is it that tolerates an enemy’s invasion of its defined territory en masse with open arms in the name of religious tolerance?
By far the majority of Muslims are peaceful people. One can only deduce from that fact that, like George W Bush, they are not fully understanding of the ideology they follow.
Against this, there are many Muslims who are conversant with the origins of Islam and seek to follow its fundamental principles. Violence creates fear, which achieves total submission from its victims.
It is only then, when the whole world has submitted to the political will of Islam, that it will become a “religion of peace”. Or perhaps it’s more true to say, “a totalitarian, political ideology with its archaic Sharia law”.
