Experience has taught me that too much money brings bad luck, so I would agree with Kip Keino about the evils of amassing wealth. I feel truly sorry for people who have too much money because it creates a “prison” for them.
If Kip Keino wants “healthy first-generation forests, healthy and clean oceans, clean air and clean water for cities and towns, preserving species from extinction [and] a better standard of living for all strata of people”, there must be an economy behind all of that. Economies come only through capitalism.
As for the richest people often leading democracies, the founding fathers of the oldest living democracy, the US, were, like it or not, from the “top 1 per cent”. Rich people basically created modern democracy and capitalism.
In the end, in my opinion, please judge a leader by the economy that he or she provides to a country, and try not to be too jealous of the enrichment of others, since that is their own personal Hell to deal with.
My advice to young people is shoot for average incomes and demand a good economy.
