John Arnone reckons it’s a good thing that Donald Trump is on the jihadists’ “bad guy” list. As usual, Arnone misses the point.
If we’re going to win the war on terror we need the support of most of the Muslim world. So, when a dangerous loudmouth like Trump insults all Muslims, the jihadists use his comments to convince Muslims that the war on terror is really just a war against Islam. And that’s an effective recruitment technique.
When I read certain letters to this newspaper, even I wonder if the jihadists have a point.
