The world No 6 looked weary and in big trouble at 1-6 in the final game but forced herself to claw back into the match which consumed one hour and 27 minutes.
“I knew a lot of fans would be disappointed if I didn’t maximize all my effort out there. I was exhausted in the final game and briefly thought I would go down this match. But I just hanged in there knowing that she was tired as well,” said Ratchanok who won her eight career title and her first in eight months after winning the Indonesia Super Series Premier in June last year.
She will rise to No 4 in the world next week and will represent Thailand in the Badminton Asian Team Championship in India next week.
