Eric Bahrt (“Endorsement of Trump makes me sick,” Letters, February 28) criticises Donald Trump’s daughter Ivanka for selling fur hats. Hey, Eric, Ivanka is a hot babe. Hot babeness excuses a multitude of sins. Ivanka can sell hats made of human entrails as far as I’m concerned. A major advantage of electing Trump is that we’d be looking at his wife Melania and daughter for the next four years. Woo woo! Elect Hillary, and all we’d have to look at is Bill.
Songdej Praditsmanont (“Republicans slug it out,” Letters, February 29) calls Trump “a typical loudmouth, like some Americans”. Khun Songdej’s letters have always revealed him to be a thoughtful and well-informed gentleman of impressive intelligence, but in this case he is being too kind. Calling “all” Americans loudmouths would be stretching things a bit; maybe even “most” Americans. But “some” Americans needs to be ratcheted up a bit, and, as a certified loudmouthed American myself, I believe that “many Americans” is about right.
Donald Trump could turn out to be an American messiah or an American Hitler. He’s a smart man with a big ego. This is a toxic mix. Will his intelligence control his ego, or vice versa? If wealth has gone to his head, think what power might do. I wouldn’t want his finger on the nuclear trigger, but I’d sure like to see him negotiating with Xi and Putin.
But who else have we got? The Republicans have two freshman senators with no visible accomplishments. The Democrats have a superannuated socialist who could easily have a stroke any day ... and then there’s Hillary. Elect Hillary POTUS and we get MOTSOS (More Of The Same Old Stuff). We also have to look at Bill for four more years when we could easily be looking at Ivanka and Melanoma. It gives one pause.
Final note: Callow youth Marco Rubio claims that Trump misspelled “choker”. He didn’t misspell it. I saw the tweet on TV. He did misspell “honor” (as “honer”). He can be forgiven, because this word is outside the vocabulary of most politicians. Young Marco needs to marinate a bit and wait his turn. Can you imagine him standing up to Xi or Putin? Marco should have listened to Jeb Bush, Jeb should have listened to his mother, and everybody should listen to …
