Surachai, 60 going on 40, ready for next time warp

Who's that handsome young man? Goodness gracious, it's 60-year-old Surachai Sombatcharoen, just back from the plastic surgeon’s!

Three weeks after the popular luk thung singer announced he was going in for a massive session of lifts, snips, tucks and God knows what else, he was fronting a press conference with the bandages off and looking 20 years younger.
“I’m very happy with the results,” Surachai beamed, holding up a pre-op photo for comparison’s sake. “I’m sure the fans will be happy, too, to see a more attractive and youthful me. I didn’t reconstruct or alter my face – just got rid of wrinkles and the sagging skin, so it’s still 100 per cent me.”
In the course of nine hours of surgery, he had 30 places on his face, hairline and neck forcibly loaded onto a time machine. The results are indeed dramatic.
“I’m recovering well,” he said, “and there’s no risk of infection. In fact the doctor wanted me to stay and rest a bit more, but my mother passed away on Tuesday and I had to attend her funeral. So it would be silly to go to the funeral and not reveal my post-op face to the public. So, here I am, looking younger and feeling great.”
Asked if he’d been offered any movie roles for dashing young leading men yet, Surachai laughed and said not yet, “but I’m sure good things will come. Now that I have my new face, I’m seriously considering getting a six-pack surgically done, too.”

Tales of the tubes
Net idol Mallika “Tubtim” Chongvatana is wasting no time getting back into the swing of things, less than a month after divorcing Surabot “Pluem” Leekpai, her partner in life and in the online media who’s the son of a former prime minister.
Attending the recent launch of retail product, Tubtim told the press she’s not only got her personal life back on track, she’s also set up her own YouTube channel, TubTimTube, where she does everything herself. She’d previously co-hosted the VRZO Channel on YouTube with Pluem.
“I just felt I needed to get on with my life and do what I love to do, so it came naturally,” she said. “My family and friends have been very supportive and my fans really like my new channel. I’m really happy that things have worked out so well.”
The young couple’s split came as a shock to fans of their videos, where love just seemed to blossom between them, leading to a wedding two years ago. Then early last month Pluem announced on Instagram that they’d parted ways after realising their relationship was better suited to friendship than wedlock.
They’d always remain good friends, he vowed. Well, Pluem’s mother seemed to think otherwise, posting on Instagram that she’d prefer a pet dog to a “particular human being”. And then Pluem “un-followed” his ex-wife on that same social network.
Asked about their alleged ensuring friendship, Tubtim insisted it’s real. “Yes, of course!” she said. “We parted ways amicably. We didn’t have a nasty fight or anything.”
However, “I don’t know what he’s up to now. We haven’t spoken since the divorce.”
