Bloody Mary A+ must surely have sent in a late April Fool’s joke with his suggestion that expatriate retirees be exempt from 90-day reporting provided they make regular blood donations.
The Thai Red Cross requires donors to be under 70 and many hospitals in fact insist on 60 as the age limit. This is not to mention the fact that people of any age with certain diseases such as malaria cannot lawfully give blood in this country.
An alternative would be for the 90-day tedium to be abolished for retired foreigners who can pass a simple, annual Thai-language test. On second thought, perhaps not.
